So excited to be featuring my lovely ladies who completed the Untangle Your Wellness Challenge with me in February! Here are some of their testimonies <3
1) Why did you decide to commit to this 21 day challenge?
Mandi: I wanted to do this to get myself back into a healthier lifestyle that that I had a few years ago.
Lauren: I needed motivation and encouragement to start this new way of life.
Amy: I needed to get back on track and be held accountable. My self esteem was so low and I was making no time to work on me.
Erica: I decided to commit to keep up the momentum I had since I started new programs right after Christmas. I know I feel better when I eat and workout, but am someone who needs to constantly be held accountable.
Kayla: I needed the accountability as I jumped back on the faith and fitness train. I knew it would be really hard to start alone and honestly I didn't want to do it alone. I wanted to openly share my experiences with others.
2) What program did you select and did it challenge you?
Mandi: I didn't stick to a particular program
Lauren: I did PIYO, it was harder than I thought it would be but I enjoy it very much!
Amy: 21 day fix extreme! Loved this program and the first week was rough but this week has def gotten easier.
Erica: Hammer and Chisel - definitely challenged me a lot! I had to increase weights some already and learned I need to work on balance and stamina the most.
Kayla: I did the 21df. This was my second time doing this program and yes it did challenge me!
3) What were scales/non scale victories you've experienced?
Mandi: My pants felt looser and I've had more energy
Lauren: Being able to keep motivated even if I slacked here and there. Showing myself that it is possible to eat healthier on my schedule even if it's just in small ways!
Amy: NSV: inches lost, more energy, no more restless nights, clearer skin, looser clothes and just all around better attitude
Erica: ☆ Had to increase weights ☆ Learned many new strength training exercises ☆ Became more disciplined in my workout time & schedule ☆ Down 6 lbs and 16.5 inches since start of exercise in late December.
Kayla: *My belly isn't as bloated *My pants are not as tight * I had a lot more energy * I began to crave water instead of sugary drinks!!
4) What was one way you grew spiritually during this journey?
Mandi: It got me in my bible more everyday which made me feel closer to God.
Lauren: I've really enjoyed sharing and being challenged spiritually. That kept me going back to my bible for more.
Amy: I realized that I need to spend more time in the word and making Jesus time a priority. I also am working on giving everything to Him and not holding back
Erica: I realized I need to make more of an effort in this area and seek His word directly.
Kayla: God was with me every time I pushed play. Instead of complaining during the workouts I was able to pray to him!
5) Do you find this lifestyle realistic to maintain?
Mandi: I'm still not 100% on nutrition. I find hardest at dinner to eat a different meal than the rest of my family. My kids are so picky
Lauren: I think it may take me more time to fully get my whole lifestyle changed but I think it's realistic to maintain.
Amy: This is Totally realistic. I was def over complicating meal prep/planning and waking up for a 5am workout isn't so bad now that I am exhausted at night and get a good nights sleep.
Erica: I think it is definitely realistic, but sometimes hard since I am preparing for 4 and not everyone in my family is on board. I end up preparing many different meals each day to please everyone. Some progress I have made in general is getting everyone to eat whole grain bread, my kids drink smoothies and Shakeo with me, my son loves hummus and my daughter is trying more veggies.
Kayla: It is definitely more work to meal prep but if you even have just a couple hours on the weekend to shop and prep it's completely worth it!
6) Would you recommend a challenge group like this to a family/friend?
Mandi: I would definitely recommend this group!! 😊
Lauren: I would totally recommend a challenge group, it was so nice to not be doing this alone. The encouragement and motivation from Caren and everyone else was fantastic!!
Amy: I have a few friends in mind Caren, I have been blessed by you these last few weeks. Your spirit and honesty is overwhelming and gives hope! Know that God is not done with you yet and I truly believe He has big plans for you thru this outlet.
Erica: Absolutely! I tell everyone about the difference God has allowed Caren to make in my life!
Kayla: I would absolutely recommend this group! It is so encouraging and inspiring to be on this journey with other women!
