These are some of the women who joined me in our Love Your Body challenge back in March! I am so excited for each of their journeys and for the opportunity to work with them :) here are their testimonies!
Why did you decide to commit to this Love Your Body challenge?
Marissa: I committed because whatever I was doing before was NOT working. Trying to do things on my own without support...and tired of feeling tired all the time and stuck in a rut of bad food choices
Jane: I needed a change to the way I was eating and exercising! I've been feeling really good and am determined to keep this life style up!😁
Nicole: I needed to change my eating habits & make better choices.
Christina: I wanted to be in better shape over all and learn how to eat healthier.
Emma: I decided to do the challenge so I can get my body heathy for future baby carrying and to just learn to be more healthy in general!
What program did you commit to and did it challenge you?
Marissa: PiYo - this program challenged me in a different way. I was used to doing crazy cardio /sweat sessions with CDF/insanity but this wasn't happening right now because of my knee. Piyo challenged my flexibility, balance and overall strength.
Jane: PIYO and I love it😍
Nicole: I did Brazilian Butt---it challenged me because some of the workout moves were tougher & it def. got my heart rate up! It's also entertaining...his accent makes me laugh!!!
Christina: I didn't stick with just 1 program... I ended up jumping around between Core De Force, Piyo & tried T25 (also did Zumba & Kickboxing on my own) depending on my mood that day.
Emma: I selected Piyo which I did love but from a previous wrist issue that flared up again I ended with T25 and fell in love with that as well!!!
What were scale/nonscale victories you experiences?
Marissa: Non Scale = more energy! Confidence in my food choices, clothes fitting better, and change in mindset. Scale = lost 4 pounds! (That's huge for me!) haven't taken my measurements yet.
Jane: Bloating has gone way down! My clothes fit better! I'm more confident with my body, and I used to feel nauseous at night, when I was eating "normal" I haven't felt sick this whole challenge 😁that's a big one for me!
Nicole: Non-scale victory: Bloating has gone away! Big win there! Scale victory: Lost 4 pounds!
Christina: Non Scale : I felt less bloated and my stomach issues have significantly decreased since eating clean. Scale: I lost 4 pounds!!!
Emma: Non scale I can hear the change in the voice in my head when I look in the mirror and when I'm working out! I difficulty thought I wouldn't be able to do a lot of what I did but I'm so glad to know I CAN! Praise God for that! Scale victory I lost a few pounds but now am feeling more and more comfortable/confident in my skin which I truly haven't felt in a long time.
What was one way you grew spiritually during this journey?
Marissa: Changing my attitude and perspective on my motivation for changing my lifestyle. Knowing I have a "higher" reason for doing what I'm doing / glorifying God with my time and choices.
Jane: I've felt more loved and cherished ❤️ I found that I'm wanting to have my quite time with God, and I'm diving deep into his word on my own!
Nicole: Not letting my insecurities get the best of me knowing the Lord will help me through this journey.
Christina: I learned how to love my body more
Emma: Spiritually I felt god has been telling me for a long time to love myself more than I do but I have always refused to listen, I am no where near 100% but I really am starting to hear him in this and trust his love over the lies I tell myself.
Do you find this lifestyle realistic to maintain?
Marissa: Yes - I have been doing this on the nutrition end (without the formal workouts) since the 5 day clean eating challenge a month ago and now I feel lost when I don't prep and follow my plan.
Jane: Yes I am going to keep this lifestyle up!
Nicole: Yes---it's very realistic when you have a meal plan & you learn to make better choices
Christina: Yes I find this lifestyle realistic and I want to continue it because I felt a lot better.
Emma: Yes!!!!!! I loved the amount of energy and excitement I get from the workouts and meal planning everyday/week. I am super excited to continue it (thanks to you ladies for motivating me and being an amazing example)
Would you recommend a challenge group like this to a family/friend?
Marissa: YES! Just yesterday I was talking with my hairdresser and she was telling me how awful she feels/ no energy/ not eating well and I was like "oooo do I have a solution for you!" ❤
Jane: Yes I totally would !
Nicole: Def. recommend to a friend.
Christina: Of course I would and I have already been talking about it to everyone.
Emma: Definitely I have a lot of girls at work talking to me about it and my parents/sibling are always up for a good new workout/meal plan schedule. It really is easy to talk about something you love doing!
