At 28 weeks pregnant I am enjoying focusing on upper and lower body strength and these 4 moves are a few of my favorites.
Note that on the lower body moves they are eccentric. This means you go down for 3 counts and up fast with control. The extra tension on the muscle gives it an extra burn!
My Meals Lately
Some dinners have been all over the place because my food aversions are back making it harder to like protein. That plus the heat has made it even more difficult to want to cook hot food! This was one of my dinners this week and it was hilarious to say the least. Egg pizza with a big bowl of yogurt! The yogurt had unsweetened shredded coconut and flax seeds added to it. I sent the egg pizza recipe to my email list. If you're not on there and want to be just comment with your email below!
Then sometimes my stomach is more normal and I am able to really cook ;) Below are some of my dinners from last week! I love stir frying veggies and noodles in some teriyaki sauce and coupling it with baked chicken. This chicken had organic basil and garlic tomato sauce on top with some shredded reduced fat cheese.
I am not one to say no to burgers (never used to like them before pregnancy) but I do select the portobello mushroom and beef burgers so it's a but more balanced and I eat it without a patty and a side of veggies!
And then every now and then I have a sushi craving but sine I am pregnant it has to be a bit lame...thankfully I still love California rolls!
These rolls are awesome because they give me my good fats (avocado) a bit of protein from the crab and just the right amount of carbs with the rice. Plus it's cool and refreshing on a 95 degree weather day!
I am so excited because today is meal prep Sunday and I am kicking off my free 5 day clean eating challenge tomorrow with some awesome ladies! Time to go to church, then blast some music and prep prep prep!
Though I am a certified personal trainer through AFAA, I am not a nutritionist. Any food posts on this blog are simply related to my journey!
