Raise your hand if you hate meal planning, grocery shopping and meal prepping!!!! I KNOW I DID!
At first, meal prep + meal planning was a daunting task. I hated it. It took what seemed like forever, and half the time I wouldn’t eat what I prepped or planned🙄. Then I made the shift. I decided to make meal prep...wait for it...FUN!!!
You can add fun + joy to any mundane task with a little bit of creativity and mindfulness. So here are some of things I do to make both experiences more fun:
*I blast worship music (usually Christian rap and I dance ) while I prep
*I use it as a time to pray and talk to God
*I listen to a podcast and grow myself
*I try to experiment with one new recipe each week
*While shopping I DO make it a game to stick to my list and get out of the store in 20 min !
Point is, whatever the daunting task is, add a twist of fun. It will make a difference !
I ended up having some of my prepped food for dinner last night because it smelled amazing! Once Luca went to bed, I took some time to relax with Pumpkin Spice tea...SO good!
Sister, remember that, just like our faith journey, our health journey is a marathon not a sprint. Embrace the journey and understand that if all you’re chasing is weight loss or external gain, it will NEVER be enough. I have to remind myself daily that my goal is MORE of Jesus and less of me.
