Can you get strong again after baby? YES. YES. YES. Note I said "strong again" not "the same body back." I am still a work in progress. I am not showing you this to boast but to show you that this is possible. 100% possible. It didn't happen overnight. It didn't happen by me sitting on the couch all day. It didn't happen by eating junk. It didn't happen by sleeping in. This took effort. It included:
The result? I have found I am actually stronger than before I was pregnant. I know because as I am doing workout programs I did PRE pregnancy, I am now using heavier weights as well as able to last longer without breaks.
Nutriton has also been key. I am constantly focusing on fueling my body with nutrients and not calories. Not only does it leave you more satisfied but you have less cravings! YES you CAN choose the healthy options over the pizza. Not feel forced but actually choose! Your taste buds change every 10 days and we tend to crave what we EAT.
I recently discovered these Nourish Bowls at the grocery store and they are DELICIOUS! For the days when I have 0 time to make dinner or I didn't prep as much as I should, these bowls are filled with amazing nutrients. All Ido is add some of my own protein on top! Anyone else see these?
One of my other non scale victories last week was buying SHORTS for the first time ever ! I have never felt confident wearing shorts. I almost never do! You either find me in leggings, jeans, or capris. But...yesterday there was an awesome sale at Old Navy and I saw these. At first I chuckled and said "no way" but then to humor myself I decided to try them on. I had always been a size 8 but none were available...only 6 + 2. So I tried the 6, again to humor myself and they were loose 😳. Honestly they were comfortable, an appropriate length, and I felt CONFIDENT. Seems like something so silly to share but it just made me excited. I don't know what I weigh nor do I intend to find out. I have enjoyed every step of my postpartum journey and am so thankful for this body that can do what it does!
