Meals & Nutrition
Hubs and I celebrated 4 years of marriage by going out to breakfast! That's actually one of our favorite meals to go out for. You can bet I ate all my delicious food! Like I share on here often, I don't believe in deprivation but LIFESTYLE. I know that I am consistent with my nutrition so I CHOOSE to let loose every now and then and enjoy every bite. That cinnamon roll french toast though...heaven!
Examples of other meals from this week! This is why I am so passionate about serving women in achieving a healthy LIFESTYLE. You can eat delicious, nutritious food without depriving yourself. On the left I shared how the "counting colors" concept really isn't difficult and actually way more enjoyable and practical than counting calories. Often women will share that they worry the containers won't give them enough food so I stuffed mine and then unpacked them on my plate to show them what it really looks like (baked chicken, quinoa, steamed broccoli). The middle was when I went out to lunch yesterday and I ordered a veggie jumble salad. My goal with salads is to ensure they have tons of flavorful veggies and lean meat so I don't need dressing. This one came with hummus on the side and veggies included roasted red peppers, roasted sweet onions, cucumbers, apples, and avocado! Finally the plate on the right was a breakfast I made for myself this week! After doing some strength training (Hammer & Chisel program) I decided to try Country Heat (our new cardio dance program) and when I was done I was STARVING. So, I scrambled eggs with peppers and onions, mashed up steamed potatoes and had lean turkey sausage!
This has been a HARD week to push play. My motivation is at 0 nearly every day but I refuse to let my emotions determine my decisions. Let me tell you a secret though...by the time Thursday came around, I decided to stop being so stubborn and unsure about Country Heat and just try it. I had my doubts. I don't like country music, I don't know if it will get my heart rate enough to call it a "workout"...and...it's just not my cup of tea. I like burpees, pushups, and lifting weights. TRUTH: I don't like burpees or pushups right now. Weight lifting is fine but even that is maxing me out some days. So I pushed play and did the sample of Country Heat and really gave it my all. Here is what I found:
Gah, I am actually so so excited for this! This morning (Saturday) I did Giddy Up and loved it! I am going to mix up hammer and chisel with country heat for August but then dive into Country Heat FULL out for the Health Bet challenge in September and finish off my pregnancy with it :D If you want to hear more about the Health Bet or Country Heat just email me: email@example.com
I'd be happy to hear your objections or excitement and see if this is a good fit for you!
Though I am a certified personal trainer through AFAA, I am not a nutritionist. Any food posts on this blog are simply related to my journey!
