Though I am still focusing on strength training, cardio, and flexibility, after each workout I love to go for long walks and just spend time with Jesus in that way. There is something so beautiful about spending time with Him in nature. That day was particularly windy and I was listening to praise music and my hands just went up. It may feel funny to walk around a townhouse development with my eyes closed and hands in the air...people might think I am nuts! It's okay though, I just let the Spirit flow. Love this quote by Tim Keller-"The future is not something God knows about, it's a place that He is. Talk about comfort in knowing that I don't have to know every detail of my life! There is no place I will go that He has not already stood,
Now I can take comfort in that.
Above are two ways I refuel after I sweat! On the left is one of my classic breakfasts packed with 77 superfoods to fuel me and baby properly! Includes Vegan Chocolate Shakeology, oats, half a banana, and a tsp of PB! I sometimes use water or almond milk...just depends on the day.
To the right is another one I make often if I am sick of drinking my shake. They are known as overnight oats. I don't have a set recipe for my oats...I feel like I just wing it every time but here are the basics:
✔️Nearly empty PB jar (you can also use a clean jar and put a tablespoon of PB in, this just ended Up working out nicely!)
✔️1/2 cup oats
✔️1 cup almond milk?
✔️1 scoop vegan choc shakeology (you can use whatever protein powder you have!)
✔️1 tablespoon chia seeds
Leave in your fridge overnight and BAM! I hope this consistency works for you, like I said, I just eye ball it 👀
This pregnancy has been comical to say the least. I don't get weird cravings but I get weird food aversions. There was one night this week where NOTHING sounded appealing and my protein intake was so poor. I ended up having turkey pepperoni slices (heated) over cucumbers and this mighty muffin! Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by it! It tasted really good and to make it extra moist (sorry if you don't like that word) I drizzled some agave syrup on top. I think next time I want to smash my own raspberries to add to it! And I was grateful for the extra boosting protein ;)
To the right is a classic lunch option for me. It doesn't look great but it tasted awesome!😉 it was basically left overs from dinner the night before over a bed of lettuce:✔️Stir fried veggies
✔️Stir fried curry chicken
✔️Small piece of zaatar bread because of my Egyptian cravings 😁
I love making big dinners so I can creatively use left overs the next day! Nothing goes to waste 🙌🏼
I am still following the Insanity Max30 calendar but have been alternating it with Hammer & Chisel so I don't burn out my body at 6 months pregnant (plus I love lifting). Below is one of my favorite moves from Hammer and Chisel!
I am thankfully still able to get a 30-40 minute workout in each day but that's because I love how I feel after. I feel like it wakes me up and gives me the energy to keep going throughout the day! So far in this pregnancy there haven't been many aches and I am trying to maintain my flexibility. I have also been focusing on "pulse" workouts and 10 second holds to prepare for labor ;)
