You read that right! Last month it was her incredible husband Chris and this month it's Lexi! This is a power family, my friends! The coolest part is that Lexi and I aren't necessarily the closest of friends but every time we talk it's so Spirit filled and Christ centered. She encourages me with her walk and her leadership by example! So tonight, she is our feature faith spotlight and I pray her testimony encourages you!
C-Lexi! So excited to have you on here. Can you share a little bit about yourself?
Lexi-I’m 24 years old, live in Quincy Massachusetts with my husband, Chris and twin 2 year old girls Dillyn and Ariya. I work at Eastern Nazarene College as a receptionist and am called to be a mighty encourager of God every day.
C-I love that; mighty encourager of God every day. Amen! When would you say your faith moved beyond just knowing God to experiencing God?
Lexi-Knowing God and experiencing Him are two different things. We (Chris and I) have always believed in God but when I realized that God had more for us I started to FEEL Him. In the beginning of 2015 I made a choice to seek God out like a job. I actively spent time in the word, listening to amazing sermons on my free time and just totally giving in to Him. We took ourselves out of places of leadership and allowed ourselves to be lead and mentored for the first time since we were married. Once I believed that God had me here for a reason, my life shifted from a place of knowing who God is to seeing Him move through my life in ways of wonders and miracles, confirmation and revelation. God has literally paid off our financial debts and increased us in our spiritual gifts. He is with us and I can feel Him! When we started attending our church, Impact Church in Medford, I was surrounded by people with huge faith. These were people who also believe HUGE things for themselves and had enormous visions from God about their lives and how they would affect the world. I believe that being around big faith puts a demand on our own faith. When we saw that it was ok to dream big and have massive vision through others, our faith couldn’t help but grow and it was fueled by what God was doing around us in others.
C-Perseverance is the word God placed on my heart for 2016 which is pretty crazy! So true. How do you keep your eyes fixed on God when storms come your way?
Lexi-PRAY! Talk to God and let it all out. Don’t put on a show and be honest with our Heavenly Father. I give Him my concerns, complaints and worries. Then, speak truth. The hardships we face are facts, but what the Word says about us is the TRUTH! There is a difference. Remember who Jesus says you are and your mind will refocus on the Truth instead of the facts of circumstance.
C- Amen! When we fill our mind with the truth we are better equipped to destroy the lies! What are some verses that you often cling to as a reminder of His goodness?
Lexi-Philippians 2:13 jumped off the page to me this week. I trust that it is God who is at work in me and he is my source of power and will to achieve His purpose!
I hope you have all been encouraged by Lexi's honesty and empowering character. She is REAL my friends! You meet her and it's instant comfort and her joy and love for God is contagious. So blessed to have been able to have her on this page to shine the Light God has placed within her. Love you Lexi!
