Truth: You are defined by God and God alone. He identifies you as his own (2 Corinthians 1:22).
Here is what I have found: If I don't know who I am, then I am vulnerable to other people telling you who I am. But the concrete, solid, gospel truth is that I am who God says I am, and no one else has a vote in the matter!
What if we abandoned any image of ourselves that is not from God? So we stop accepting what others say about us, labeled us as, or define us as. Pretty radical right?
Here are some things God says I am:
**I have purpose (Ephesians 1:9 & 3:11)
**I have hope (Ephesians 1:12)
**I am sealed with the promised Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13)
**I am salt and light of the earth (Matfthew 5:13-14)
**I have been chosen and God desires me to bear fruit (John 15:1,5)
**I am God's coworker (2 Corinthians 6:1)
So today I am clinging to this truth, that I am His and only His opinion of me matters.
