This morning I was reminded of Peter’s denial + betrayal of Jesus. He failed HARD. But what IF…what if…God intentionally guides us to failure? Look at my son, Luca. He was born as a little kid who can't walk, talk, or control how he goes to the bathroom. He had to be TAUGHT everything! All that learning takes a lot of time. God made us so we are dependent on HIM, our parents, and yes...even each other. The whole way of life was created and designed by God so we have opportunity after opportunity to try again, and again...and again UNTIL we finally get it right. And as Bob Goff says in Love Does...God is endlessly patient.
Friends. I am inviting failure into my life like a friend. Without it, I can't learn, grow, or get better. I anticipate more failures to come my way but just like my son didn't give up when he was learning to crawl and walk, I won't either. I WILL eventually get it right. If you have been beating yourself up over a failed attempt at being a present mom, supportive wife, successful business owner, plug your failure in, let me remind you that God is endlessly patient and He often intentionally guides us into failure. Let's choose to depend on Him in it and realize that His plans for us are GOOD and to make us the man/woman He has called us to be, failure is required to mold us.
